There’s big news coming from Concord, North Carolina, this week as Custom Flavors’ new East Coast manufacturing facility opens its doors for business. The culmination of a remarkably fast groundbreaking-to-open process, the new facility was inaugurated on December 15. Demonstrating the speed and coordination behind the project, the first production run was completed and shipped on November 21st, well ahead of the targeted go-live date.
“This opening is a major milestone in our ongoing commitment to our customers, delivering faster lead times, expanded capacity, and coast-to-coast service,” said Alex Wendling, President. “After extensive trials and our first production run completed, the facility is now operational, bringing enhanced flavor production capabilities directly to customers across the Midwest and Eastern U.S.”
The launch represents the first phase of a multi-stage expansion by Custom Flavors, designed to support the growing needs of food, beverage, and nutritional brands seeking a reliable U.S.-based flavor manufacturer capable of delivering speed, flexibility, and scalable manufacturing capacity. Starting today, more than 85% of the U.S. can be reached by Custom Flavors within two business days.

The new facility has been designed from the ground up to meet modern flavor manufacturing standards and support high-efficiency liquid flavor compounding and powder flavor blending. Created in partnership with integrated design-build firm A M King, the site enhances production flow, boosts capacity, and builds on Custom Flavors’ longstanding, top-tier quality and safety standards.
“From the very beginning, we conceived this new facility as a leading-edge manufacturing center of excellence, designed to satisfy the most exacting demands of today’s food and beverage manufacturers,” said Matt Pulskamp, Custom Flavors VP of Operations. “This facility will do more than provide us geographical reach; it will allow us to evolve with our customers as they work to meet the fast-changing demands of today’s consumers.”
